Comparative Tarot

[Star] [6 of Wands] Comparative Tarot is an approach to tarot study created by Valerie Sim. It uses side-by-side comparsions of the same cards from different decks. Every deck has its own unique voice. By considering several "voices" together, you can deepen your understanding of each card. The Comparative Tarot deck by Riccardo Minetti is designed for this kind of study. Each card has images from four decks: the Universal Tarot, based on the popular Rider-Waite, the Tarot of Marseilles, for the traditional Marseilles style, the Egyptian Tarots of the Sphynx and the unconventional Tarot of the Origins. In the instruction booklet, Sim offers five short descriptive phrases for each card - a core meaning and one for each deck's contribution. The Comparative Tarot and the four decks used in it are produced by Lo Scarabeo in Italy and distributed in the U.S. by Llewellyn.
