For the Egyptian Tarot, artist Silvana Alasia based her images on the designs of M. O. Wegener. "These cards are the reproduction of the Tarot deck devised by the famous occultist Jean-Baptiste Pitois who linked the tarot tradition to the legendary Book of Thoth." This deck follows the standard tarot 78-card model, but the pictures are scenes from ancient Egyptian life, religion and culture. Each image is shown on a piece of papyrus floating on a black background. The titles are given in four languages: English, French, Italian and German. There is no instruction booklet, only a brief introduction and set of card meanings given on an extra card. The Egyptian Tarot is published by Lo Scarabeo of Italy and distributed by Llewellyn in the US.
