Tarot of the Gnomes

[Star] [6 of Wands] The Tarot of the Gnomes was created by Antonio Lupatelli, the artist for the Fairy Tarot. In this deck, he shows the world of these little people of the earth using the traditional tarot structure. Each card shows a scene from their way of life that illustrates the card's meaning. For example, the powerhouse gnome female on the Strength card is prying open the mouth of a frog, not the familiar lion. On the majors, the card name is given in Italian on a scroll with translations at the bottom. The corresponding name in the gnome language is shown at the top. On the minor cards, keyword meanings are given in five languages. Each suit seems to have a theme related to its symbol. A guide to these themes is given in Italian on scrolls on the Aces. The 22 major cards are also available in a tiny version called the Smallest Tarot of the World. Both decks are produced by Lo Scarabeo in Italy, but are distributed in the US by Llewellyn.
