Haindl Tarot Deck
The Haindl Tarot is the work of German painter Hermann Haindl. The images on this deck swirl and flow as in a dreamscape. Faces and objects on the cards often reflect symbols and myths from different cultures including Egyptian, Indian, Native American and Celtic. Haindl also draws on many esoteric and religious traditions to enhance his deck. Each Major Arcana card has been assigned a Hebrew letter, rune and astrological sign. The Minor Arcana cards show hexagrams from the I Ching. Each suit card also has a colored border with red = Wands, blue = Cups, White = Swords and Yellow = Stones (Pentacles). Haindl is the artist for the Haindl Rune Oracle deck as well. There is a separate companion book for this deck called Haindl Tarot: A Reader's Handbook by Rachel Pollack. Pollack also wrote the instruction booklet.
