Lakota Sweat Lodge Cards

The Lakota Sweat Lodge cards are a set of teaching cards offering lessons and symbols from the sacred Inipi purification ceremony of the Lakota (Sioux). The cards are the work of Helene Sarkis and Chief Archie Fire Lame Deer, a Lakota Wichasha Wakan, or Holy Man. Sarkis' love of the Lakota way began with a vision she received during her first sweat lodge ceremony. The 50-card deck is divided into three groups: the sixteen great mysteries (aspects of the Great Spirit or Wakan Tanka), eight Supernatural Spirits (or planets) and 26 elements of the sweat lodge. Cards are numbered and names are given in English and Lakota. This deck only comes as a deck/book set with The Lakota Sweat Lodge Cards: Spiritual Teachings of the Sioux (177 pages). The description for each card includes a testimony, traditional meaning, card explanation and meditation.
