The Tarot of the Old Path has emerged in recognition of the many card readers who are witches and initiates of Wicca, often referred to as the Craft, the Old Religion or the Old Path. A coven of eight witches came together to act as contributor-advisers for this deck. It is described as a magic tarot of female energies and wisdom. The instruction booklet is written by Howard Rodway. The artist Sylvia Gainsford, a member of the Fellowship of Isis, has contributed her own card interpretations together with the language of flowers, which complements the cards. Sylvia has dedicated the Lovers card to romantic novelist Barbara Cartland. There is a separate companion book for this deck called Tarot of the Old Path. The Tarot of Northern Shadows is another deck by Rodway and Gainsford.
