Ancestral Path Tarot
The Ancestral Path Tarot portrays paths created by the ancestors of different cultures and times. The artist Julie Cuccia-Watts draws on living traditions as preserved through verbal and written histories and myths. The four suits depict four representative cultures: Japanese Swords, Egyptian Staves (Wands), British Cups and Native American Sacred Circles (pentacles). Each of these cultures is portrayed during a distinct historical epoch: the Japanese feudal era, the Egyptian 19th Dynasty of Ramses II, Arthurian Britain and post-contact America. Court cards show gods, goddesses and other key figures from these eras. There is a separate companion book for this deck called The Ancestral Path Tarot.
