Classic Tarot
This Classic Tarot deck is a reproduction of an Italian deck published in Milan in 1835 by the Lombard engraver Carlo Dellarocca under the supervision of the printer Gumppenberg. This deck became very popular and was copied extensively throughout Italy for over a century. The Ancient Italian Tarot is also based on this deck. The Classic Tarot deck is noteworthy for its exquisite detail, lush colors and expressive figures. The card titles are in Italian, and majors are numbered in roman numerals except for the Fool and Death cards. A keyword meaning for each card is given in four languages in a white vertical border on the left side. This border was not part of the original deck. In the minor arcana, cards are not named except for the court cards. This deck is published by Lo Scarabeo of Italy and distributed by Llewellyn in the US. This deck is also known as the Classical Tarots.
