Golden Rider Tarot Deck
The Golden Rider Tarot deck is a variant of the popular Rider-Waite Tarot Deck that illustrates Learning the Tarot. The artist Francois Tapernoux drew creative inspiration for this deck from the Jura region near the Swiss Alps. Tapernoux has kept the basic scenes and symbols from the Rider-Waite, but he has removed some of the detail and replaced it with swathes of vibrant, luminescent color. A copper brown is prominent on many cards and is also used as a border. The images give the impression of having been painted rather than drawn. Tapernoux worked many years on perfecting his vision of the Golden Rider in hopes that the images would convey their messages through direct experience.
